بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ

86:1بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ وَالسَّمَاءِ وَالطَّارِقِ
By the sky and at-Tariq.

86:2وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا الطَّارِقُ
But what will let you know what at-Tariq is?

86:3النَّجْمُ الثَّاقِبُ
The Piercing Star.
4
86:4إِنْ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ لَمَّا عَلَيْهَا حَافِظٌ
There is no soul without a Protector over it.

86:5فَلْيَنْظُرِ الْإِنْسَانُ مِمَّ خُلِقَ
Let man consider what he was created from.
6
86:6خُلِقَ مِنْ مَاءٍ دَافِقٍ
He was created from gushing liquid.
7
86:7يَخْرُجُ مِنْ بَيْنِ الصُّلْبِ وَالتَّرَائِبِ
Issuing from between the backbone and the breastbones.
8
86:8إِنَّهُ عَلَى رَجْعِهِ لَقَادِرٌ
He is certainly able to return him.
9
86:9يَوْمَ تُبْلَى السَّرَائِرُ
On the Day when the secrets are disclosed.
10
86:10فَمَا لَهُ مِنْ قُوَّةٍ وَلَا نَاصِرٍ
He will have no strength, and no supporter.
11
86:11وَالسَّمَاءِ ذَاتِ الرَّجْعِ
By the sky that returns.
12
86:12وَالْأَرْضِ ذَاتِ الصَّدْعِ
And the earth that cracks open.

86:13إِنَّهُ لَقَوْلٌ فَصْلٌ
It is a Decisive Word.

86:14وَمَا هُوَ بِالْهَزْلِ
It is no joke.
15
86:15إِنَّهُمْ يَكِيدُونَ كَيْدًا
They plot and scheme.
16
86:16وَأَكِيدُ كَيْدًا
But I plot and scheme.
17
86:17فَمَهِّلِ الْكَافِرِينَ أَمْهِلْهُمْ رُوَيْدًا
Therefore, give the blasphemers respite, a brief respite.
